3D animation offers a versatile way to bring ideas to life. With this guide, you'll learn how to take your vision and turn it into beautiful images
With "Cinema 4D", you can quickly and easily bring your visions to life. This beginner's guide will walk you through creating and animating a 3D scene, with tips and techniques for everything from photorealistic rendering to motion graphics.
"Cinema 4D" enables everyone from professionals to hobbyists to create stunning 3D animations. This book will walk you through all the steps of creating an interior flythrough of an office: creating a 3D structure, adding materials and lighting, animating, and rendering. Then, you'll explore additional features through a series of mini projects: creating motion graphics, exporting a stylized non-realistic image, adding hair and creating cloth. You'll learn how to connect pieces that all work together by exploring node-based programming in Xpresso, then wrap everything up with an introduction to compositing in Adobe After Effects.
Approach
Step-by-step instructions with guiding screenshots will help new users to create a photorealistic interior scene with an animated camera. Users will also learn how to use the MoGraph module to create dynamic motion graphics, how to link parameters with Xpresso (Cinema 4D's node-based programming language), and are guided through mini-projects to explore additional tools for non-photorealistic illustrations, hair creation and cloth rendering.
Who this book is for
Designers and artists with a basic proficiency in animation or computer graphics, as well as professionals who are familiar with other 3D animation software.

Cinema 4D Beginner's Guide
By Hasasuki
This book lacks detailed instruction and examples for a Beginner to start learning Cinema 4D. I expected that since it doesn't include a disc with finished samples nor does it have colored photo pages so that you can at least see what the end results should be. I cannot recommend this book to a beginner. It's much better for a novice who has more experience with Cinema 4D. I'll finish this book, and find another one to help me with Cinema 4D. On a positive note, you will learn the basics of everything; but you could probably do better with video tutorials from Maxon or other online sources.

The authors did not proof read this book before publishing
By james e harris iii
UPDATE: Don't waste your money on this book. As you go further into the book, there are more and more mistakes. I quit using it because there were so many and nothing the book teaches you to create turns out like what the book says. It just gets confusing. I am getting rid of mine.
-----------
This book is pretty good for beginners -- if you can figure out the correct numbers for the exercises. The authors did not proofread this book before publishing. There aren't any grammar or spelling errors, just incorrect information on the exercises. Sometimes there is an extra step that shouldn't be included because this extra step highly distorts the exercise. If you skip the step, then you achieve the desire results that the book wants you to achieve.
The book will tell you to enter 25cm in the field for position, but to get the object you are working with to look like the book example, you need to enter -25cm.
There are a whole bunch of mistakes like this and you spend more time trying to figure out what the correct entry should be than you do actually learning from the book. Once you figure out the correct entries, the book is alright, and you just do the exercise 2 or 3 times, and you have it down.
also, sometimes the book will have illustrations that don't help. ex: the book will tell you about dots that change red or green when you click on them, and it gives you an illustration showing this, but the illustration is in black and white and not color, so the illustration is pointless.

save your money get a tutor
By Tim ashley
In the very beginning The author has you do an excercise by creating a desk and walls for a room scene which seems simple enough uh not so! I've followed her instructions exactly and I'm now on my second day trying to simply perform what should be an easy task with 0 success. I tried making contact via the internet with the address given at the beginning of this book but it goes nowhere. Here is what they give you as a contact add: questions@packtpub.com tell me where that gets you. I'm finding out that learning animation on any particular software is very challenging by just using one resource and I say this after trying to learn blender by the same method........forget it.
when you get stumped and you will there is noyone there to show you what you are doing wrong so your pretty much in the dark. If you really want to learn animation take an online course or go to school where atleast you have an instructor to offer more help because this kind of thing aint easy to learn with just a beginners guide. If you want to build a chicken coop get a book, if you want to learn to bake a cheesecake get a book but if you want to learn this kind of thing reach for every kind learning aid and resource you can and stay with it.
