Liat Hughes Joshi is a parenting journalist who has contributed to national newspapers and magazines, including the Daily Telegraph, Sunday Times and Mother and Baby Magazine. Prior to her second career as a writer, Liat spent nine long, exhausting years as a management consultant in the City (during which time she actually did about 15 years’ worth of work). She is also the author of What to Buy for Your Baby and lives in North London with her husband and primary school-age son.

A Great Manual for Raising Little People

Babies may come with manuals, but little people at primary school certainly don't. Well, that is, until now!
Raising Children The Primary Years is a sensitively written book that focuses directly on the development and care of children in their post-toddler and pre-teen years. This new publication is packed full of information and tips on how to deal with young children from 'eating your greens' through to behaviour, bereavement and divorce.
Liat Hughes Joshi writes in a clear and positive way, without ever being condescending. Child Psycologists, Dr Jemma Rosen-Webb and Dr Harriet Tennebaum offer friendly and timely advice, drawing on their research knowledge and clinical experience, providing background information for each different situation, and offer a range of strategies for parents and carers to consider in developing possible solutions to specific problems. The inclusion of comments gathered from a nationwide Parent Panel adds a further dimension, providing reliable evidence and quotes from real parents who've `been there, done that', sharing how they have dealt with issues.
