Simply the best !

Of all the major travel books series, I have always found that the Rough Guides were the best. The Rough Guide to New England is no exception. As an avid traveler, I like to do plenty of reading and research regarding the locations I am going to visit. This book has the usual sections and content that one would expect of any superior comprehensive travel guide. The basics are all covered: food, accommodations, festivals, culture, sports, and outdoor activities as well as getting there and getting around. After a brief introduction of when and where to go to see the highlights of this region of the US, there are detailed sections for each of the six states in New England.
What it does better than other guides is the straight forward style of writing and the way the material is presented. The use of colorful and important black and white photos, highlighted sections, exceptional maps, specialized boxes of interesting tidbits of information all contribute to a most useful and entertaining guide. Suggested places to eat, drink, and stay would appeal to all levels for value and are well researched. On top of all this, this is one travel book that is both a handy size (small - yet has over 500 pages) and is easy to read without having to use a magnifying glass (like I have to with some other series books). I also find that the font type, selective use of bold print, color bars, and the comprehensive index better than similar books. This guide book will definitely help you "make the most of your time on earth" as their logo states.

Being a great fan of Rough Guides I have used them for many parts of this world. Actually, seldom travel without one.
I know New England quite well and this guide is really very good, offering precise, interesting and trustworthy information.

Great book for the kindle
