Spirit World Connections

I am a fan of this author and have enjoyed all three of her books. This is the best one yet! Each case study is poignant, and the reader will be able to relate to some aspect in each one, I believe. The author's explanation of how mediumship works is clear and understandable. Her practical instructions to teach all of us how to communicate with our deceased love ones are well-written, and encouraging. If you need to heal from grief concerning the loss of loved one, this book is for you.

A True Instrument Of Healing

I absolutely loved this book. I would also recommend her last book entitled "I'm Still With You"
In this book, Carole provides more insight on what happens to our Souls when we pass, the meaning of why we are here, as well as recounts of various spiritual readings she has done for her clients. The accounts chosen are based on various life circumstances that surround the passing of a loved one or friend.
This book will provide insight and relief in knowing our loved ones are still alive in spirit and are around us and aware of what is going on in our lives and can hear us when we send them love.
I was anxious to read this book because I have had 2 readings with Carole and can attest to the fact that she is the real deal. I enjoyed reading the various accounts from real client readings and how connecting to loved ones who have passed can and want to provide closure and aid in our healing. Order this book and you will not be able to put it down.
I read it cover to cover two times.

Anyone seriously interested in a cogent, well structured, and logically developed textbook on the economic analysis of investment projects MUST study Bierman and Smidt. This book is not "just another finance text" because capital budgeting straddles two disciplines: finance and operations. This book does justice to both fields remarkably well.

Half-Hearted Effort At A Textbook

"The Capital Budgeting Decision: Economic Analysis of Investment Projects", 9th edition, is a disappointing textbook, especially considering that it was written by two Cornell University professors. Many of the topics are covered only briefly, with general allusions to principles covered in accounting and tax courses, and presented with the assumption that the reader has prior knowledge of such principles. There are several errors in the text, as well as in mathematical problems that can easily confuse beginner finance students. There are no solutions available in the book to the majority of the end-of-chapter problems, nor is there a companion solutions manual. This is probably the greatest shortcoming of the book, since there is no way to gauge one's understanding of the often complex material. The book attempts to cover in less than 400 pages what the authors should have attempted to cover more thoroughly in several hundred more. For a ninth edition, the authors haven't made much effort toward making this a truly useful textbook for covering the full complexity of capital budgeting concepts.

Don't buy this if you are new in finance

Although it does provide really good insights, I find this quite hard to read. Moreover it is quite complicated to follow the authors point's of view.
The book also includes a lot of math and it presumes you've already have that knowledge.

Overall I am not happy with the purchase and would not recommend it to any of my friend and colleagues.

It is hard to justify spending $25 on an audio CD, but this is one instance where it is entirely worthwhile. Not just a page-turning book, the dramatization is excellent, and has me sitting in the car when I get home so I can keep listening. With the virtues of friendship, loyalty, wisdom, kindness, humility, courage, peaceful, lion-heartedness all bundled together in this amazing little book. It is decidedly Christian, but worth the while of anyone who wants to hear a great story.

Good overview of potential for gaming development in Asia. Book is historical and speculative in many areas with respect to Asia gaming development. Areas pertaining to casino internal controls is more of an overview rather than detailed in nature.
This book is for those who desire a history of gaming in Asia or want an understanding of the prospects and hurdles for entry into the gaming market in Asia.
My purchase centered on understanding the concepts for non-negotiable chips programs which were fully explained. That made the purchase worth the cost.

Good, but not the best on the market

Yet another anthology about UFO religions, written by and for members of the realm of higher education, has seen the light of day. The anthology is divided into sections dealing with specific movements, certain elements or directions within the movements, and general analyses of different religious interpretations of the UFO phenomenon. And it is the latter sections that perhaps are most appealing to the "normal" reader, since the other sections do not offer an understanding of the whole picture, but instead focus on specific areas of religious research.

However, when it comes to religious research (and other research, as well), it's often necessary to understand all the little pieces in order to gain an understanding of the larger one, and thus all contributions in the anthology has something to offer, even if the "normal" reader is likely to be able to deal with long and thorough discussions about the different karma-relations found in UNARIUS, how the recently deceased psychiatrist Dr. John Mack makes parallels between shamanistic visions and alien abductions, or the history behind the not-so well known movement The United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors.

For us Europeans, two sections are of particular interest. These sections deal with the history of UFO spirituality in Germany and our neighboring country of Finland. Even though most books in the genre don't focus on North America exclusively; it's still a welcome change to find an in-depth discussion about the European scene. Unfortunately, no critical voice is raised against Finnish ufologist Rauni-Leena Luukanen-Kilde, which is rather strange since she has been one of the most severely criticised New Age ufologists. Another dilemma is the date of the founding of The Aetherius Society. One chapter says it's 1954 (the same year the movement itself claims it was founded), while another chapter argues for it to be 1956. The proof-reading has missed several typos here and there, but luckily they aren't too many and overall impression remains unaltered.

Famous psychologist Carl Jung and his theories about flying saucers being a modern myth is thoroughly discussed, which I must say is a welcome change, since his theories are often mentioned briefly in other books but seldom is discussed more thoroughly. His ideas about UFOs and extraterrestrials being "technological angels" are definitely worth a closer look.

Another excellent chapter rationally (and easily understood) deals with apocalyptic tendencies within the alien abduction phenomenon and also the UFO phenomenon in general, even though the author Daniel Wojcik from time to time has a tendency to repeat himself. It's still, though, a contribution worth reading several times, and that is not always the case with certain other contributions.

UFO Religions is, overall, an anthology very much worth reading, and it's a much cheaper alternative to The Encyclopedic Sourcebook of UFO Religions, the other anthology about UFO religions to have been published recently.

Useful if slightly overlong overview

Although this book simply consists of a number of articles by various academics around the world it is quite entertaining and covers the sociological and psychological (if not the neuroscientific) aspects of this minor but interesting phenomenon rather well. However, there are a number of irritations: firstly, the Editor (Christopher Partridge) should have had a quiet word with Garry Trompf and politely but firmly encouraged this 'Professor in the History of Ideas at Sydney University' to re-draft his contribution. It may contain an intriguing comparison of UFO religions and Cargo Cults but is written in an absurdly convoluted style that is replete with unnecessary jargon like 'apotropaic', 'mythological macrohistory', 'sectlet'and 'scientismic'. You'll need to borrow the Universal Translator from Star Trek to cope with this kind of gibberish. Secondly, Jodi Dean's article is just plain pompous and should have been left out altogether for its quite laughable assertion that Independence Day is homophobic. However, Partridge's introductory overview is lively and informative and other conributors have been particularly perceptive on matters such as, for example, the relationship between Heaven's Gate and established New Age thinking. Finally, the book may be about a fringe phenomenon but I found myself rethinking my ideas about mainstream religion as a consequence. In other words, the book as a whole leaves you with plenty to reflect on.

About the Author

Deidre Johnson-Cane, a graduate of the State University of New York at Brooklyn, is a licensed physical therapist and licensed massage therapist. She has won two National Powerlifting titles and captured two World Powerlifting titles. She has had more than 20 years of strength training and is a marathon runner.

Jonathan Cane, a former fitness director for the New York Police Department, earned a Master's degree in exercise physiology from Adelphi University. He has been certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. A competitive triathlete, Jonathan coaches a variety of athletes through his company, City Coach.

Joe Glickman is a freelance writer and nationally ranked marathon kayaker. His articles have appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Times, Outside, Men's Journal, National Geographic Adventure, and many more. Great Weight Lifting book for beginners...and maybe beyond

This book was a gift for my 15 year old grandson who is starting to lift weights...he LOVES it! It gives very specific ways of lifting wts to accomplish certain things and is quite safety orientated. He also likes that it actually has pictures of the exact muscles that will be used along with pics of the exercise itself.

This book is like having a trainer with you. Explainations are superb and it's very informitive I learned more than I thought I was going to. Great comparisons for equipment. Straight forward and to the point!!! I love this book!
